Cookies & tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar tools to keep the Site working, understand how it’s used, and show you more relevant ads. Here’s a breakdown:
| Type | What it does | Typically kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps you logged in, remembers your cart, lets checkout work | Session – 30 days |
| Analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) | Helps us see how the Site is used, so we can fix issues and improve it | Up to 26 months |
| Advertising (e.g. Google Ads, Meta Pixel) | Shows you more relevant ads, and measures how well they perform | Up to 90 days |
| Preferences | Remembers things like your currency or display settings | Up to 1 year |
You can control or block cookies through your browser settings — keep in mind that turning off essential cookies may stop checkout from working properly. For advertising cookies specifically, you can also opt out directly through the tools below.
Data retention
- Order records — kept for around 7 years, mainly for accounting and tax purposes
- Account information — kept until you delete your account, plus a short recovery window
- Marketing email list — kept until you unsubscribe, or after a long stretch of inactivity
- Support conversations — kept for around 2 years after your last message to us
- Analytics data — kept on our analytics provider’s standard retention window (commonly 26 months)
Once the relevant period is up, data is securely deleted or anonymized.
International data transfers
Our business is based in [Insert country]. If you’re shopping from the EU, UK, or elsewhere with different data-protection laws, your information may be processed in that country.
Where data crosses borders like this, we rely on recognized legal safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses — to keep it protected to an equivalent standard, regardless of where it’s processed.
Data security
- Checkout and account pages are encrypted with SSL/TLS
- We don’t store full card details — that’s handled by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor
- Access to personal data is limited to staff who genuinely need it to do their job
- Account passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
No method of transmitting or storing data online is ever 100% secure, so while we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we can’t guarantee absolute security. If a breach were ever to affect your rights, we’d notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Your GDPR rights (EU / UK)
If you’re based in the EU or UK, you have the following rights over your personal data under GDPR / UK GDPR:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data (the “right to be forgotten”)
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest or direct marketing
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on it
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To use any of these, email support@minustwocargostore.com. We’ll respond within 30 days, and may ask you to verify your identity first.
Your CCPA rights (California)
If you’re a California resident, the CCPA (as amended by the CPRA) gives you these rights:
- Right to know — what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you
- Right to delete — personal information we’ve collected from you, subject to a few exceptions
- Right to correct — inaccurate personal information we hold about you
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — we don’t sell your data, but advertising cookies like Meta Pixel or Google Ads may count as “sharing” under CCPA; you can opt out via the cookie controls in Section 4
- Right to limit use of sensitive information
- Right to non-discrimination — for exercising any of the above
To submit a CCPA request, email support@minustwocargostore.com. We’ll verify your identity and respond within 45 days (extendable by a further 45 when reasonably necessary).
Children's privacy
The Site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you’re a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal data, contact us and we’ll remove it promptly.
Marketing & email communications
With your consent, we may send you emails about new drops, offers, and updates.
- Opting in — happens when you subscribe through our newsletter form, or tick the marketing box at checkout
- Opting out — click “unsubscribe” in any marketing email, or email us directly, any time
- Transactional emails — order confirmations, shipping updates and similar messages will keep coming even after you unsubscribe from marketing, since they’re not promotional
Unsubscribe requests are usually processed within 10 business days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, the tools we use, or the law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version — we’d encourage checking back occasionally if you shop with us regularly.
